12v Reg Cab Schlong Bed Race/Street Truck Build

I’ll preface this build with a little back story. I’ve had my 98 12v for almost 10 years. It went from stock, to lifted 12” on 40s, then back down to lowered on street tires. Some of you may remember it in its different stages.
It was at a point where it made about 750-850 hp, and ran consistent 11.50s on fuel and had ran a few 11.1s with some spray, but always had a boot issue or somethin small prevent me from breaking into the 10.9x range that I knew it had in it.

I knew I ultimately wanted to go faster, and the brown truck was at the point where it needed a roll bar and to go on a diet. The truck is pretty nice so I made the choice to start with something else that was purpose built.
The build started when I found a 97 eclb that had been rolled over.

Then I picked up this V10 C&C 3500 ex forest service truck

Stripped the 12v to the frameClick the image to open in full size.
Set the green cab on and took about 30” out of the frame Click the image to open in full size.

That was last October. And it sat like this until around May of this year.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.
I’m going to try to show the steps in decent detail so it will be multiple posts.

I wanted to do a build thread earlier, but wanted to get to a good point before posting anything, but I got so busy in the middle of it that I just never got around to it.
May came and I started back in on it doing the fun stuff.

The truck pretty much sat all summer. Rather be out on the lake everyday than workin on the truck. But around the beginning of September I decide to get back on it. A local truck event, Truck Mania, was coming up on October 13. Which gave me six weeks to take the truck from what you saw in the last post, to making passes down the strip.
These pics are from the first week of September. Added a few more bars and got the seat mounted

I’ve never really loved the look of a regular cab shortbed, they looked too short. But a lowered regular cab longbed looked too long. So I wanted to be right in the middle, and sectioned 8” out of a longbed

Previously swapped a D80 in the brown truck. So I swapped rear ends.

Traded my manifold and 64 for a T4 stainless manifold and a 467.

Also picked up two s366s should be good for about 150 lbs/min.

Anyone know who can machine the comp covers to V band flanges?

Awesome build man. Love the 7’4” bed length- looks perfect. Ready to see what’s to come.
What’s the engine setup on it that you ran the 10.50 with?

Thanks man!
Engine setup was basically a stock 12v with an unbenched 12mm pump, stock lift pump with a cheap pusher pump, 5x.022 injectors, 64/74 over s480, and purge solenoid of nitrous.

These are the Summit brand coilovers. I believe I read somewhere that they are basically unmarked QA1's. Either way they seem nice and the adjustments really work.

Nice, I appreciate the info.

What spring rates are you using in the rear?

I'm still running leafs, so I'm just using these as shocks with no springs.
