VE pumped Drag trucks

Hello, just wondering whats out there for VE pumped trucks and what numbers they are running. I got my 89 D250 down to 13.58 at 98.5 mph with the stock injectors. Planning on doing the head/injectors this winter.. Just looking for some thought and insite on whats out there. My idea was running a set of 5x16 or 5x18 injectors. with possibly using some n2o to clean it up at the track.

Learn from those currently drag racing. Including CR and p-pumpers. Learn how to apply the power.

As for VE, BC847 on here ran 12s. Another guy runs 10s in his rat rod pickup. Bponci's daughter i believe is in the 11s.

been going to the track for a couple years now. Started out at 15.3s and am now down to the 13.5s. I think I got as much out of her as I can with the stock injectors. Would like to keep it a 12mm VE pump for as long as possible being its a first gen truck. My end goal is to be in the 11s

My son went 13.30 with a 14mm head 5x18's,and HX35/Ht3b, 47RH. Two wheel drive spinning un-boosted launches. Lol, we were afraid the dana 44 wouldn't hold.

Here is my daughter sand dragging with the same set-up less the junk 14mm head.

sam lil nellie bach - YouTube

You got yours coming right along. Think BIG low RPM torque and don't plan on making a whole lot of power above 4k rpms.

P.S. - I eventually tested the Dana 44. It will hold fine right up to 25psi. lol

I am running a set of 29.5x10.5 slicks, was thinking of trying a taller tire. Got a fully built 47re with a full manual Valve body. I shift in O.d about 150ft to the end. Here is a video DIESEL Motorsports - YouTube

Some years ago now, the 6400lb daily-driven heap ran a 12.67 ('93 W250 clubcab cinderblock) on 33" BFGs. 6x.016s, 12mm VE fed by a Walbro 392. S362 over an HT3B (might have been an HX35 Hybrid. Can't remember), Non lock-up A518 case. Other little stuff.

Got bigger squirters a while back. New rims and tires recently, and just finished new spinny-things to cool the squirters. Completed data-logger thingy upgrade last week. Raising line-pressure this weekend.

Might make a pass this coming Thursday and see what it's all good for now.

Very Nice guys, and in the video I cant remember in the locked it up in 2nd. I have been playing around with 2nd and 3rd lock up but I usually lock it up in 2nd, and I flip the OD switch with like 200ft left. best was 98.5mph with a 13.58 with the stock Non IC injectors. Cant wait to do head work this winter and get new injectors!

We went some high 7.40s in the eighth with Bruces 91 C10 2nd short bed, it was a 12 mm VE single charger. Like my projects it had too much gear to run out in the 1/4. Oh and truck was about 4950 back then, once we changed to a p pump I got the truck down to a legal minimum of 4500. With the big addition of power the 518a convertor just couldn't get it done, he couldn't afford to fix it at the time and us mirror it to my trucks TH400. We would have had another 5 second truck way back then, 2006 or 7.
Best I remember injectors were 7x16

Bponci was that 11 second pass on fuel only? and I'm very interested in what you have done to get there because that's where my goal is to get too.

What happened to the truck, haven't seen it out in a while.

I recently did some trading and wound up with a 91 model W250 intercooled A518 truck. Pump is unmolested aside from someone had loosened the AFC, tightened the pre-boost screw and rotated the stock pin to the deepest spot. All the other tamper proof caps are on the pump except for the pre boost screw. Its not fast, but not too slow. Id guess 16's.

What would an A518 hold without billet shafts? Is the input shaft about the same strength as a regular 47rh/re input shaft? I see some 727's that are close to stock as far as the transmission goes running good times so thats why I ask. If it would hold 13's with a moderate launch with just a VB and Converter, it would be tempting.

Dont know what my path is for the truck yet. Was planning on selling it but now that i've spent some time on it, I find myself wanting to keep it...
