47re trans work HELP

Not on here often and not sure where to post this but I'm looking for a recommendation on a reputable transmission shop in the Kentucky area. I've been going down the list for about a year now with nil results. Even goerend is searching out a shop for me. Nothing major just need a part installed per a valve body kit. Any help appreciated!...

What part of KY. Northern KY by Louisville and Cincy would be IKT or south run diesel. Trying to think of one in Florence by cincy..

I'm in central Kentucky near Lexington.

Slayback's diesel is in Owenton thats pretty close within an hour of Lexington, Drew is a good dude too.

Ok so I see a few guys names in particular on here who are transmission guys. I'm looking for some guidance on particular installation of a part. I had a guy install a Goerend valve body with some "extras" in the kit. One of those "extras" was the extra spring that goes in the servo. The guy went against the directions and said first it would cause a harsh shift then 2nd time he said oops I looked at the picture wrong therefore the spring did not get installed and now I've got the 2nd-3rd gear bind up!!

Dave G. has been searching a reputable shop as much as I have in my area with nil results. As it stands now I would like to install this spring myself. I'm aware for the most part of the procedure. My concern is when you loosen the front band nut to get the lever out of the way do I have to be concerned that it's possible the front band may pop out and cause me another problem?

Dave G. had said there used to be video of this on his site of the installation but when they had their website rebuilt it was gone. Said he was searching it out and possibly it was on u tube but I haven't come across it in my searches.

I'd take it back to the guy who DID NOT put the spring in it but he's a 3.75 hour drive away from me.

I need to tackle this ASAP as truck has been like this for a few weeks now. If anyone's got advice on this I'd appreciate a reply as I'd like to get on this tomorrow if possible.

Skip it I figured out how to get it done. And yes you can get the spring in without dropping the valve body.

Funny thing about this I had a transmission shop argue with me telling me my transmission had to be pulled to do this. (that would be trans shop # 5 *in a year* who argued and or did botched work on my transmission). With a handy compression tool loaned by goerend you can back off the wedge/ band adjustment nut just enough to get the wedge against the transmission case and keep tension on the lever. This will give you just enough room to get that compression tool in there, remove the snap ring and servo retainer cover and install the spring. Surprised it worked but it did!
