12-Rail

In for the e trans results I have a anteater installed in a customers truck with the same complaints. I’m tired of tuning it.

So it has been a year, e-trans is OK it’s not amazing, tune-ability is lacking, but it gets the job done and rarely hunts like the ant eater did.

Currently on the search for a mildly built 68rfe to trade my 800hp capable 48re for. I need more gears for towing, and I refuse to manual swap this truck.

Trying social media to get some horse trading done but it isn’t yielding much, have the 68’s become that good that nobody want to trade straight across for a great 47/48re?

Yes and no. For daily driver and even some moderate hp guys they seem to have it figured out. I'm kind of going out on a limb but up to 800hp they will hold, correct me if I'm wrong.

My 12 valve is a really moderate 450hp MAYBE. That’s all that you should really tow with anyways out here in the Rockies. So I don’t think I’ll have much issue with the 68.

This guy has quite a bit of info out on putting a 68 behind a 12 valve. He also has a timing box of some sort that unlocks the converter for a split second during upshifts and uses the pcs 2700.

If you are in Utah maybe see what randy's transmission could do for you. They are building 68's and may do some trading. Just an idea. I have his stage 1 in my 6.7, which is just tuned.

The biggest issue with the 68' imo in the last few years is the early low gear lock up tunes. If they lock up in 4th it saves a lot of problems, (hard shifting, speratic shifting, and input shafts). Also the like a lower gear. 3.73's and stock tires seemed about right. 3.42's and early lock up isn't the best for them. Then add line pressure at light throttle input and you have valve body issues.

I build transmissions in Utah on the side of farming, and from the standpoint of a builder I wouldn’t bother trading like that, and I’m sure Randy wouldn’t want to bother. Too many variables to go wrong to try and sell it to a customer.

I’m mainly trying to find someone who is looking to add more power and reliability in a high power application by 48 swapping, who has already built their 68. A straight across trade would be the most ideal.

A stock trans plush cash would be the next most ideal thing, I’m capable of building the 68 myself, just need the right deal with cash so I can get the hard parts bought.

Sorry, didn't know you built transmissions. I'll keep my mouth shut next time lol.

You’re good, I just know if I was him I wouldn’t waste the time of day. It’s also not a truck that’ll be seen by a lot of people, so nothing to offer there as far as good exposure. He’s got thatvpart handled pretty well anyhow. Haha
