I talked with a guy today that has an '08 6.7 (std cad, 4x4, DRW) with a G56.
He told me Wednesday his truck was vibrating in 6th gear...only in 6th. I said it it sounded like a transmission issue to me.
When I saw him today he told me, after talking to his mechanic, that he thinks the trans case is cracked. He said you can see fluid weeping from the case. His mechanic told him the only option is to buy a new trans.
He uses the truck for work (delivers storage sheds with it) and the trailer is hooked to the truck all the time. He runs a small tow tune, and the truck has a dual disk in it.
Is there any aftermarket item available to prevent this issue in the future? Does he have any other options besides replacing the entire transmission?
