So what happens if you swap a 07 ecm into an 04 and try to tune? Can it even be done?

Not the same language for one, sci vs canbus. For two it would probably fry the 07 ecu, as they are not the same pin outs.

Is the 03-04 ECM capable of all the same stuff as the 06-07 ECM?
Im really thinking of swapping to an 06 ECM and engine harness..

Pretty sure its not that easy, the 06 needs chipped keys and vin matched BCM to go with it.

It ought to be pretty close to the same, just simpler. Only guessing this because all the box tuners out there make pretty much the same power no mater the year of truck.
