Explanation of whats included In a Goerend Transmission and Warranty Info

I have had a lot of inquiries of what is included in Goerends Transmissions and what the warranty is. So here is all the info.

A Goerend complete transmission comes with the following upgrades:

For 47RH and 47RE transmissions:

* New triple-disc torque converter
* Upgraded valve body.
* 4140 steel 1-2 lever.
* New Dodge input shaft and hub (non-billet).
* All bearings are replaced with new Torrington bearings, including the output shaft roller bearing.
* New overdrive sun gear is installed with the late style bushings (this will force lube oil out to the gear teeth).
* New snap rings are installed in the front & overdrive clutch.
* New seals & gaskets are installed using the updated versions.
* New release spring in the rear clutch.
* We install a steel front planet gear in all Diesel and V-10 transmissions. Early models (1995 and earlier) may have come with an aluminum front planet.
* The Trans case is drilled for extra lube to the rear one way roller clutch.
* The intermediate shaft is the dual lube hold design shaft.
* The overdrive planet gear is the late design 15* angle with the large lube slots cut into the carrier frame to allow more lube oil to get to the planet pins.
* The overdrive planet is a 5 pinion.
* The overdrive direct clutch has 10 double sided or 23 single sided plates.
* The overdrive brake clutch is the 5 plate design.

For 48RE transmissions:

* New triple-disc torque converter
* Upgraded valve body.
* 4140 steel 1-2 lever.

* The front planet is a 6 pinion steel planet and the rear planet is also a 6 pinion steel planet.
* The intermediate shaft is the dual lube hold design shaft.
* The overdrive planet gear is the late design 15* angle with the large lube slots cut into the carrier frame to allow more lube oil to get to the planet pins.

Also, on 48RE transmissions:
* The overdrive planet is a 6 pinion.
* The overdrive direct clutch has 10 double sided or 23 single sided plates.
* The overdrive brake clutch is the 5 plate design.

All parts are inspected, assembled and installed in the transmission. Once together, the transmission is then dynamometer tested. While testing on our dynamometer:

* All hydraulic pressures are checked.
* Cooler flow and pressure is checked.
* The transmission is checked for excessive noise in all gears.
* The park gear is checked.
* The neutral safety switch checked.

Once this testing is complete the fluid is drained and inspected. The transmission pan is then removed and inspected for any unusual debris and then the transmission is dyno tested again, checked for leaks and all electrical components are tested under load.

The base price of the 47RH and 47RE transmission is $3550.00 and add $1000.00 for the core charge, the base price of the 48RE transmission is $3750.00 and add $1000.00 for the core charge. The transmission includes all the parts and updates listed above. If the core has a cracked case or overdrive housing or has a broken input shaft, a fee will be deducted.

This transmission comes with our limited 3 year/100,000 mile warranty - Please ask for information on additional warranty options available. The torque converter has a limited lifetime warranty.

The warranty does not cover loss of use, time, towing, install, freight or per diem damages. The input shaft and hub is new and we have very little breakage problems when the transmission is not loaded beyond 20,000 lbs gross truck and trailer. The stock shafts are not covered for breakage but we will make the repairs for the cost of the parts labor and freight. Cracked cases of any kind are not covered. If a universal joint in the drive shaft is loose or over tight it can cause a vibration that can crack the overdrive section of the transmission case.

When these transmissions or components are being used in any type of off-road events including, but not limited to sled pulling, especially where the engine rpm can exceed the factory governed rpm, we will not be held liable for any personal injury or property damage. The customer is responsible for insuring that the vehicle has the proper safety related items in place for safe operation. In these cases, the transmission and torque converter should be shielded with appropriate shielding.
