Old Pyrometer Gauge.
I was wondering if the probes for the old isspro pyrometers are still available, I have a factory gauge in my 79 Kenworth and I believe all that I need is a new probe and it might come back to life.
What's the best way to identify what model of gauge I have?

I guess this company only caters to the aftermarket and doesn't off any support for their OEM gauges they used to supply.

FYI, most pyrometers use a K type thermocoupler. Can be found on McMaster Carr.

Sorry, was out of the office traveling for the diesel World Finals. As mentioned above, virtually all exhaust gas temp gauges use a Tyke K thermocouple. Main thing we would have to know is how the thermocouple is mounted into the exhaust (1/8" NPT fitting, 1/4" NPT fitting, or band clamp), the type of electrical connection (sealed connector or ring terminals), and either the length of the probe or the diameter of the tube section you are going into.
Regards,
Michael Pliska

Ring terminal, and will be 1/8"NPT into the manifold. I think the shortest one available would be ideal as the port isn't very tall,

Part number would be R658S-8F, that is for a short, adjustable-depth, ring terminal, 1/8" NPT model.

Another question about upgrading my tachometer in my truck, it currently has a 3000rpm stewart warner electronic tach that uses a magnetic pickup that reads off of ring gear, would this be compatable with one of your electronic tachs, I am interested in one of your 3 3/8" that reads too 4k rpm.
If not would your magnetic pickup read the ring gear properly or would I need to go about it a different way.
Thanks.

All of our electronic diesel tachometers should read a mag sensor like that with no problem. My favorite is our new EV2 series of tachometers, it comes with an LCD hourmeter, and a recall function with programmable shift light.

Thanks again, I just wanted to be sure, when I was looking at your available pickups on the sight they have some different numbers in the listing and I wasnt sure what that was in relation too.
