John Deere 2.9 liter 3cyl engine ? - Competition Diesel.Com

I might have acces to get John Deere 2.9 liter 3cyl engine (turbo) from generator application.

It should be in running condition , (but I have not heard it runnning),

It was 24h running in one very small island (only few houses) and it was replaced because running hours are over.

Do you knew good or bad about it?

My idea is to create diesel generator for my home emergency electical supply, only if I can find generator unit as well.

Good little engines.. I have one in a small 5000 series tractor.. there's a million of those things out there in gen sets... I wish had a turbo on mine.. always needs a little more...

Seen alot of them. Seem to be great in 5000 series deeres. Worst thing Ive done one is a front cover gasket. how many hours?

When I worked at deere we never had any problems out of them.

I've got one in a 5105. good little motor. a turbo would be nice!!!

I overhauled one a few months ago, seemed to be a good little engine..just make sure u don't forget to put oil in it like the customer i delt with..

if its the same as a 5000 series tractor then yea they are pretty much bulletptoof
