Doesn't VE exceed 100% on forced induction engines? Which is the whole basis for big engine vs little engine that could
I like black holes but the ones at truck stops scare me.

Where does that red brick road lead?

Isn't it red dirt road?? I heard their was a lot of 'firsts' down that road but no wizard.

I don't mean to take away from the conversation, but engines are what I do 10-12 hours a day, so I try to have fun here.

One of the books I have from Hugh McInnes or Corky Bell details your question in full. I don't have access to mine ATM, but if you don't have the literature already, pick it up on amazon.

2nd year heavy duty mechanic school is all about engines, and they went into ve briefly. It stated na engines usually top out in the 80% range while fi engines can get into the 120% range
