12v 500hp build questions
Hey guys looking for a little insight, I have a customer wanting me to do a 500whp build for him. I'm more into powerstrokes as far as performance(I know I know). Question is what do you guys recommend to make that power? Truck is a 95 with pump work and 4k's, I was thinking full cut dv's, 5x12's and a 366 should get him to that power level and not be overly smokey. Am I on the right track or way off? Thanks for any info

A lot of ways to get there. I would do a 62mm up to a 64.5mm compressor with a 68mm turbine. For fuel I would go 5x.014 with 024 D.V.'s. That's how I would go, people with more experience will chime in.

Full cut delivery valves will be smokey no matter what you do. I would contact Will at Power Driven Diesel and get some 5x014 inj with a 62sxe turbo. Should easily tune to 500hp.

63X68, 5X012 and 7mm will do what you want.
I'm on DDP stage 4 (5X014) injectors with plenty of miles on them. They can be smokey. I've run two 64X71 turbos, and both take knowing how to drive to keep from clouding things up.
AFC is probably a good idea, but I have no first hand.
I did 499 at the wheels this spring, with little to no smoke.

I'm surprised full cuts are still a thing, if he only wants 500 go with biggys suggestion if it want to be setup for later always easier to add fuel than air so a bigger turbo wouldn't hurt as long as it is within reason...

5x14's, 181 DV's to keep smoke down, benched pump from Seth and SXE turbo at least a 62. 500 is pretty simple to make, DPP 4's are a 500 hp injector with 181 DV's.....I should know. I have both 181 DV's(currently running them) and a set of .035's and they can be pretty smoky, but will make the power.

The fastest spooling 500+ HP setup we've tested on the dyno is our new Garrett-based ball bearing 61mm turbo with a set of 5x014's and 025 DV's.
We've also had a customer hit 500+ on our dyno with a set of 5x014's, stock 181 DV's, PDD Hotrod Lift Pump, AFC LIVE, and SXE 362/68/.70ar wastegated T3.
There are many ways to hit 500+ HP, the simplest way would be with a PDD 500 HP fuel package. http://powerdrivendiesel.com/product...00hp/#afc-live and a turbo upgrade like an SXE362.
Here's a mild 525 HP run with my daily driver running PDD Budget Builder 5x012's, 025 DV's, and AFC LIVE detuned to about 60% where the 63/S480 compounds were making just 60 psi boost and about 1250 max EGT. This is "usable" 500+ HP, not just quick dyno spike HP!

No, it's one frame size larger although a GT35 would likely get you to 500+ and spool incredibly fast as well.

So a 37 with your compressor wheel? the 35 would max out around 500 and hp is like crack so always better to go a little bigger than originally estimated. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods will!
