Hamilton stage 2 head questions

Got my new Hamilton stage 2 head today. I have a few questions/concerns about it. I bought the head fully assembled through summit racing. Is it normal to have to dissemble the whole head to clean all the machining shavings out? I do realize you need to clean everything before assembly, but there is a ton of shavings in the ports from the valve job. Which brings me to another concern. I can still see some of the valve lapping compound on some of the valves. Which means the valves were lapped with all the shavings in the ports. I just want to see if this is normal, and if it would have affected the valve job/guides.

Sounds about right.... I wouldn’t be as concerned with the lapping compound in the guides as much as if the guides are true or not. Make sure the springs sit correctly at the base, id be measuring installed heights prior to disassembly and testing the springs accordingly. Especially if there are no shims currently present.

I pulled a couple valves out and I think I'll be calling hamilton. Thanks for the heads up.
