Sand Blasting Valve Springs

I have a set of 60lb valve springs that got wet some hown and have some rust on them, will it hurt them to sand blast em?

I wouldn't blast them. Take them to a machine shop and have the put in a tumbler. Not sure what it's called. Has steel shot and a cleaning solvent in it.

Id think if theyre rusted theyre pitted, i wouldnt run them in my engine.

Valve springs are hardened spring steel. It takes allot to pit them. Rust on them is usually surface only. Thats why I said to soak them in diesel fuel or you can use a penetrating solvent

arent they media blasted from the factory? Thats part of the stress releiving process. I would glass bead blast them prolly not coarse sand.

Thats just me.
