Oiling

I have not been able to find anything on oiling mods or if they are even necessary for a high performance application such as drag or pulling

I did read somewhere that the newer CR oil pumps were a good retrofit to a 12v but no reasons why.

Is anyone doing mods to the oiling system? ie higher oil pressure pumps, larger oil feed passages pickups etc?

Is turning up the oil pressure as simple as shimming the spring in the pressure relief?

thanx
Ken

I believe 12 valve oil pumps have straight cut gears
Common Rails do not, so they aren't interchangeable

I think you have it flipped. 12v and 24v have helical gears on the pump, cam, and crank, so the oil pump should also be helical since it is being driven off of the crank.

Pretty sure the oil pump I put in my 12v has straight cut gears...it was last week though, so I can't be sure...
