6 position chip and MPD w/HUD.....

......have arrived

I've been in contact with Sheila over the past few weeks via PM here regarding some programming for my truck, etc.

I finally got around to giving them a call. Talked with Dennis on the phone about my truck and about what I was looking for as far as programming.
As long as I had him on the phone, I asked him about the MPD with the Heads Up Display. Sounded like a cool product so I went ahead and ordered that as well.

That was 6pm Tuesday....got home from work today to see that the brown truck had dropped off some boxes from TS Performance at my door. 6 position chip and the MPD w/ HUD got delivered earlier today.

Hopefully, I'll have some time to get them installed over the weekend and post up some info/pics

The chip will be easy...since my truck has had the contacts on the PCM cleaned since 4000 miles on it. Just have to pull my current 6 pos. chip out and install the TS Performance 6 position.

I was looking over the install instructions for the MPD w/HUD....appears to be a pretty simple and straight forward install. Going to drill and tap for the thermocouple (since I want to keep the Autometer pyro gauge I currently have). Other than that....I think the longest part of the install will be me deciding on where I want to mount the display unit (luckily...I already have a few ideas...otherwise I could be there for a long time ).

Just wanted to say thanks to Dennis and Sheila for the great customer service

More to come, once the installs are completed

Update:

Installed the chip earlier between running around different places.......been driving around in the 75hp setting...too much traffic to test out the 140hp yet. But, that 75hp is nice and smooth for around town.....and when you need to take off quick to get into traffic it has some real nice get up and go to it

Big Thanks to Dennis and Sheila.....glad I took Dennis' advice and went with the NVK4 programming...no more annoying downshift from OD into 3rd Nice, crisp shifts through town and while on heavy on the go pedal

The MPD w/HUD can be used with anything.

With the exception of the installation of the thermocouple, everything else is pretty much just T-tapping wires off of some sensors on the truck for the 7.3.

Install is simple....posted a install article and operation/overview article in the "Ford Articles" section here.

Cool, could one tap into an existing thermocouple, already running another pyro, I wonder?

I don't think so......but I haven't tried it. I know pyrometers don't read correctly if you cut the lead wire going to the thermocouple.....not sure what tapping into one would do for the signal..

I just drilled and tapped again for the one with the MPD w/HUD since I already had a Autometer pyrometer.
