If you did swap to make dash gauges work should already have most of it no? And if oil temp sensor is needed plug in sensor to appropriate clip and just leave to atmosphere..you'd think wether the oil is cold or air is cold it would send needed temp reading to com to trigger glow plugs..

Looking at my truck this morning after a chilly 30 degree night the dash light came on for glow plugs I'm not sure but wouldn't that mean the pcm is commanding them on?( if the wires were still hooked into the harness)

I have a 12v in my Excursion, anyone see a reason not to have both come on at the same time? I'm thinking more for simplicity reason!!!!

Also anyone know how long these things need to be on for?

I'm building a circuit that has a coolant temp input and outputs two circuits, one to control the relay and another to control the WTS light.

Maybe I didnt word it correctly. I wont be using any Ford harness I can build my own along with the logic to control the Grid Heater.

What I'm wondering is, there is two grid heater circuit in one grid heater. Does anyone see a reason why I couldnt just have them both come on at the same time? IE one wire conects the two together then goes to the relay.

Grid heater hook-up

Each relay gets a cable that goes to a stud on the grid heater, so can I also wire in a little indicator light off that relay stud to make sure each element gets turned on as well as switches off? The elements draw a ton of power but putting a little led indicator on a 14 or so ga. wire, would that wire get ruined in a hurry or would it be fine? ( I hope that makes sense)

You could but that LED on a 20ga wire and be fine. LED's draw no power.

Ok that's what I wanted to know. Just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't have a problem on that side of the relay
