My cat compound build

Well I'm finally taking on this project. Just got another gt 4702 cat turbo in that I will be using for the lower unit. Buddy of mine will be plasmaing out the flanges and shock tower delete plates and for the piping I will be using frozenboost. I plane to fit the cat underneath and use a 5" downpipe from there. Fitting it under there is going to be interesting. This turbo is much larger than you normal s475. Attached is a pic I what the turbo looks like compared to my wh1c. Will be updating my build daily.

I'm about to start my S475 install under my s362. How do you plan on mounting the primary? Keep the pics coming

If you don't like it, start hacking away at the fender.

Thanks Chrisd91
Hopefully hacking at the fenders is last resort haha
As for bracing/mounting, a guy over on Cumminsforum gave me some ideas. I will be using some angle iron, since there are no bolts on this thing I'm stuck with having to use the turbo return to bolt the angle iron to. I will most likely fab the angle iron around the return flange. where i will bolt the iron to the engine is another story, haven't quite got to that point yet but if you have a manual you wont have the heat exchanger in the way which gives you extra mounting holes

Kinda funky, not very efficient, but it fits so I'm using it.

Been slow lately, had to put stock charger on for last weekend but will get back on the build this weekend. I now have all the parts for the build...just a matter of fab time and the cold pipe is already done. Now it's just down to completing the hot pipe, finish welding the joints on my downpipe, cut up the stock downpipe, tap the oil feed port, and figure out how i will do the return for the small and big chargers. I was going to do weld bung on the pan but I don't want to drain the oil. Any suggestions? Maybe "T" into the existing return?

Then wait to weld the fitting when you're up for an oil change....

Compounds are underway. Started Sunday and been workin on them ever since. Goal today is to drop the pan..maybe I hear you had to jack up the engine to get it out. If I can get it out then I will weld the oil bung on, then mount my return lines for the cat, the feed lines and the return for high pressure charger. Cutting more of my cold pipe so I can run the intercooler pipe over and down to the intercooler.

I always undid the motor mounts and used a jack between the away bar and balancer.
