engine build brain picking

okay guys I'm looking for some input before i dive into another motor build for my mega cab 07 5.9. the truck currently has 200% s&s s369sxe/488sxe twins 12mm pump springs push rods etc. the truck has arp 2000s and after a year of abuse and 90+ psi the head is starting to lift and push some coolant out of the cap. heres the deal I'm getting ready to buy a spare motor and dig into the build.. the options are almost endless now adays so looking for some good input. start with a 6.7 block and sleeve it and run a 5.9 crank with a 6.7 head fire ringed. or a good old 5.9 block with some billet goodies and call it a day with a ringed head etc. just curious what you all have had the best luck with the truck is a daily driver/strip toy. still have to be able to use it as a truck.
thanks guys!

My build for my 06 is a 6.7 std bore block, 5.9 crank, Wagler .080 longer rods, block machined for custom girdle and 14mm main studs, 06 head drilled for steam holes, Exergy 150% injectors from my 06, and Mahle 6.7 Qsb industrial pistons flycut .030 for extra clearance for the Hamilton 188/220 I'm going to run. The Qsb pistons have a similar bowl as the late 5.9.

If running a 5.9 crank in a 6.7 you either have to deck it .080 and use standard length rods, or buy custom .080 longer rods. You can also sleeve it down if you'd prefer that route but the larger displacement is very nice from what I hear. As the old saying goes "There is no replacement for displacement" lol

That was my idea as well, however the 6.7 block doesn't seem to have the strength of the 5.9 I've herd of a few of them cracking that's why I'm skeptical, what do you think your making power wise?

I've heard they are stronger at std bore than the 5.9 commonrail blocks but build and overall setups can differ which can be a factor in rod and block failures. I have enough fuel for 1100hp but my turbo will be the limiting factor. I will be breaking the engine in on a single s475/87 1.0 A/R T4 shooting for the same Horsepower number in my sig I did with my 5.9 last year. Then will switch to compounds or triples and go from there.

FWIW, Les (2007 5.9) aka Silver Bullet Tuning has had his 6.4 build with .080 taken off the deck to 1200hp with no issue on the dyno.

nice right on should be doable man. made 900 ish with my 75mm. just love the driving experience with my compounds there awesome man. but I'm thinking I'm going to run another std bore 5.9l with billet rods and all the goodies and sending it. also putting another pump over the 12mm when that long blocks done.
