What is a 1995 RCLB 4x4 worth?
Hey guys, I have a question. I have been looking for a 12v 4x4 for some time. I just found one within 60 miles of my home. It is a 1995 RCLB 4x4 with an auto trans. It has 204,000 miles on it. It is at a dealership. This dealer originally sold the truck new, then took it back on trade, sold it again, then took it back as a trade again. The truck has only had 2 owners, and the dealer says he knew them both personally. He claims they took good care of the truck, but it was a farm work truck for both owners. The dealer states everything works including four wheel drive and AC. I don't have any pictures to post. Is there anything in particular(problem areas) I need to look for in a 1995? I know about the killer dowel pin. What about the 53 block? That is 24v only right? I am usually in the 6.7L forums, so please forgive my ignorance of the 12v trucks. Any information would be greatly appreciated. The dealer is asking $6K, but I think he will deal some off that. KBB says it is worth between $3,700 and $5,400 depending on condition. What do you think? What is it worth? I know I am only giving partial info without pics, but I don't have any at the moment. Thanks for your time and help.

I paid $4000 for my 95 that sounds identical to the one you are looking at, mine had 178,000 miles on it, everything was in great shape and worked on mine except the paint was chipping off, which is a common problem on those years.

thanks
Thanks for the info guys. I am leaning towards buying the truck, but can't get to dealership again until Saturday. If it is still there Saturday, probably going to try to buy it. Thanks again.

It took me 6 months to find one that wasn't junk for $5500. Make sure the motor isn't tired and has blowby.

Any problems specific to the 1995? I'm in GA(actually just across Savannah river in SC). What would it cost for someone like Garmon or similar shop to tab the KDP? If the tranny or motor were about to go, what would I see during a test drive? Check blowby just like on a gas burner? Open the oil cap while its idling and look for puffing out the oil filler whole? What about tell tale signs the tranny is toast? Burnt looking tranny fluid? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make sure I don't get burnt buying junk. Thanks for all the info and help.

I bought the 1995 reg cab long bed 4x4 with the 12 valve. I am happy with it so far, but only had it about a day and a half. Does anybody have a good source on salvage yard takeoff parts for the interior and cosmetic exterior pieces? I need a 40/20/40 split bench seat in gray cloth for a 2nd gen. I was also wondering if anybody on here has any experience with converting a long bed to a short bed? I am thinking of doing that to this truck and would like any info or pointers on the process. Thanks for your time and help.
