New engine build Scania DC1601 for our semi truckpuller.

Not a lot of time to post things but work on Truck Race engines is ongoing along with a lot of development work that can not be posted. D26E6A+ race engine build.

Done loads of work had no time to post things until now. Load of project on non motor sport things so unable to post these as it’s more on vehicle and system integration.

Bit old school with a Bosch H ECD pump on a V8 OM442 Mercedes engine in a MAN KAT running on a Baldur ECU. This MAN KAT is a fast Rally support Truck. Engine dos only 510Hp and about 2000Nm but that’s max for the AT gearbox and it dos the job well.

BTRC or UK championship truck racing. Same as last year having 1e and 2e place in botch A & B division class for now but the Year is till long and one race weekend dos not win you a championship.
All truck are now running on HVO100 100% synthetic bio fuel given by a championship sponsor. Less smoke/smell and smoother running engines but bit more thermal load and EGT.

Testing a VAG or WV 1.9TDI engine on a Baldur DSL1 ECU. Back in the day they did get some good numbers out of these engine.

Last weekend track racing in the UK. Loads of action on track. In general we are dominating on performance in A as well as B divisions but it takes more than just a good engine. We seen a lot of DNF. Final drive and steering pumps. Boost and exhaust leaks and even a lose injector clamp bolt blowing up a fuel tank as combustion gas comes back in the fuel return from the cylinder head. Think like boost leaks could creep up slowly as a crack forms over time and only if you go over a loads of engine data and compare race by race you see it happen.

MVJ2 Commonrail Scania V8 engine Truckpulling 6e place last night. No smoke and good power but we need more power so task is to work on the injector hardware, we need more fuel in a shorter time.

Last weekend it was another truck racing party at the Thruxton UK circuit. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, we could not travel to England, but with a telephone e-mail and a live stream of the races and the local support of Team Bint Racing and of course the good cooperation with all other racing teams, you all try to get the most out of it to get.
To give you an idea Team Worldwide truck racing has dominated the championship just like previous years, but this is certainly not a race, you have to keep developing and keep an eye on things and learn to understand. In the UK, the race trucks now all run on HVO100 diesel. Through the FIA European championship we already have experience with this fuel at limited power with an intake restrictor of 63mm. In the UK we drive without an intake restrictor and with the high power A + racing engines that makes a difference of 250 to 300 HP and HVO100 fuel behaves slightly differently and that is also a learning process. With every change there are pros and cons, but if the whole club has the same in the fuel tank, it is the same for all and then it comes back to insight and an ability to adapt to limit the disadvantages as much as possible, and that is only possible if you work together with the race teams can see the engine data next to the picture on the track

Cat Power.
Before and after. Data logging our CAT ECM system and sent the logging data over to me can make the difference in engine performance optimising the ECM setting to the engine configuration. For me this is fun but a lot of work and I can only do this if I free up some time and go for it. It’s all about compare data and know what to look for.

Standard Trucks XL Very interesting class where we have now provided 2 Trucks with engine management to be able to get the revs and fuel into the engine with a fully electronic engine. In this Standard Trucks XL it really comes down to balance and grip, tyre pressure and the right tyre profile.

Sport Truck Volvo van Dijk Ny Titan takes 1st place in the Super Sport Promo class at the home race Montvoort, but how do you do that with a Sport Truck?
Very simple, remove the 74mm inlet restrictor for a bit more power, but leave the rpm at 2500 where 2900 rpm is allowed in these Super Sport classes as we don't want to have a chance of turbo damage, so let's shift up a gear because speed is everything. This modern 16L Common Rail engine also likes a little more air.

Thanks for posting the vids!

I second this! I love truck and tractor pulling and it is always interesting seeing pulling from other countries. What is the hitch height on the trucks? They seem to be pretty high, 30"? Just curious if you have a link to rules for the classes?

Sorry do not have this info on hitch height as there are so many between classes. Same goes for weight that keeps dropping due to the pulling sled unable to handle the traction and power so hitch height when down over the years as well.

Last weekend truck racing UK Donington park.
Still going strong with 1e and second place in both A and B division. Loads of race anction with these semi trucks.

Last Friday. Hoogblokland sled pulling Semi Trucks. All classes from both organisations present so biggest even in Euro for Semi Trucks.
Not a bad result 1e place standard XL Scania R500 Horti power. 1e place Super Sport Promo Murphy's Law Peterbilt 18L commonrail MTU 2000V8. 2e place Sport Volvo Ny Tinan 16L Commonrail.

Typical slet pulling event here in the Netherlands.

UK Semi Truck Racing Snetterton. Ryan Smith current champion is in a lead of it’s own but how easy is it really. I do not only build engines and ECU or ECM systems for them but also offer a load of support. Looking @ a load of engine data for the team running my systems sorting out problems or preventing them or making changes to driving style or truck set-up.

Most problems we had are related to bad fuel and here in Europe they need to contain bio waste in diesel fuel making valves stuck if your not running your engine every day. The whole championship now runs on HVO100. What this fuel is better google it. It’s a synthetic fuel. Other things we encounter are GPS related problems where the race control used camera en speed monitoring systems that sent out data by radio communication via a antenna that can take out the GPS signal if the GPS signal reviver is to close to these antenna. Losing GPS during race no problem as the engine management system calibrates it GPS speed to road speed taken from the gearbox speed senor but if you do not have GPS signal on track @ all you end up going slower than 160Km speed limit driving like your live depend on it coming 6 Kmh speed short as what happen to Stuward Oliver in Race 2 running the black Volvo White truck.
Also on Ryan Smith we had oil pressure sensor with what we call a drift problem indicating or reading a lower oil pressure that in reality here the ECU goes in to power reduction to protect the engine and as A solution you can turn this off by pressing the EDC fault button for more than 5 seconds taking all engine safeties out but you need the tell the race engineer how to do this as they do not remember after some time concentrating on there race set-up. It takes team work to win races.
