Tow mirrors

So has anybody messed around putting tow mirrors on a truck with regular mirrors. I have a Laramie longhorn with led heated and power fold mirrors and want tow mirrors. Keep seeing people say you can’t switch them. Even seen one guy say mirrors run signals to Transmisson. Any advice
