It was very easy and cheap. I sand blasted it in the shop. then polised the raised ribs etc... then put vasoline on the parts you dont want paint to stick.
then primer and several coats of paint.
take a razor blade and remove areas where the vasoline was and clean wipe everything clean then apply several coats of clear coat.
Worked very nice. Just be gentle pulling cover in and out of engine bay

the alt wont charge with out input from the tach. i got a external regulator from napa to make mine charge.

yea im doing the same. no need to waste the time on the cam sensor when all you gotta do is install a $17 external voltage regulator
