Question Ring and Bearing Choice

m not finding solid information in my searches so I'm resorting to posting in hopes of getting some feedback. Im going to rebuild my 2003. It'll be 900-1000hp with a large single, no more than that.

-Rings-
Does anything need to be done to the piston to accept the gapless second ring?
Where the hell do you buy them also, because I can't for the life of me find anyone who sells it?
What about top and bottom ring, just run standard rings/gap?

-Bearings-
Are H bearings worth it for what I'm doing? Ive read stick with non coated bearings as well.

On a side note- I realize this has been beat to death regarding the strength of the two, but I have a set of 12v rods sitting here. Should I go ahead and get them polished and throw them in instead of reusing my CR rods? Not from a strength standpoint but for weight after polishing.

Probably going to have the piston skirts coated but thats about it I think, unless anyone has other input to add. Thank you

Socal Diesel can get you the gapless rings.

If you coat the skirt on the piston you'll need to clearance the block.

Rods are your call, bullet rods would be better if you want 900+HP, I bent a set of 12v rods just over 900HP in a compound turbo setup and these were
12v shot peened, polished and balanced.

It's better to over build your engine then under build it.

I swore someone made an entry level set of rods around $1400-1600 but for the life of me can't find where someone told me that. Does that ring a bell?

Call D&J Precision machine for the connecting rods. Drew builds lots of engines and knows his stuff. Top to bottom, he can answer all your questions. This way you'll avoid all the internet "knowledge" (confusion).

How's he build enginas and talk too? I've never made it to that TV evangelist/engine builder phase. Maybe someday?

It wasn't that funny. I just can't focus on building engines all day and answer questions simultaneously, even though that's expected of me at work.

Wagler is offering their "As-Forged" rods now that are stronger than stock, yet require less machining and time than their full blown "Forged" rods so they are able to sell them for less. I am not sure on the price, but I know he was aiming for a target price between stock rods and full race Forged rods...
