You have no idea how excited I am to hear it run. I've NEVER been inside an engine like this before so I'm learning tons. I actually enjoy the crap out of it. And no one is going to make fun of my PEX clamps?

I use that style clamp on literally everything. I freakin love them

They dont leak and they are nice in tight spaces...except when you need to get them off.

Getting off is simple. Take a set of side-cutters and lay them flat on the clamp on the side where the band over-laps the tab. When you squeeze them, get the cutting edge to go just under that top band. They pop off in seconds......just in case you haven't tried that. That is taking for granted that a person remembers to put that part where you can get to it when you crimp them. Notice the tabs are "out". Hard to see, but they are.

Yeah on a bench I tap a screwdriver under that band and they pop right off. I am talking if you get balls deep somewhere with one be prepared to hate yourself if you have to go back later.

I didn't realize that the injectors on an 6CT angled into the bore on the intake side. Are the pistons bowl basically opposite of a 6BT? The piston bowl on a 6CT is offset to the intake side where a 6BT is offset to the exhaust side?

Dayum auto-rotating pictures. The top is the intake side so yes, the bowl is offset towards it.

No. That pic was seconds after I pulled the head. The pistons have "FRONT --->" marked on the too. That means toward the front of the flywheel right?

I changed the firing order as well. That way I have 12 reverse speeds.

We have an old square body Chevy here in town with an 8.3 and honestly it's no more power than a 5.9 would have made in that application

In a light duty truck you aren't going to notice a big difference as a medium duty engine is not a high revving engine designed for speed. Now off to the classifieds with your 11 posts! Hurry!

It's all about being reliable big and slow good to go. I could make as much power with my 5.9 as my N14 makes to but it won't live long.

That about sums it up for the day. Hopefully with any luck, I'll be posting a video of it running tomorrow. Then it's time to pull the truck in and cut out its bleeding Detroit heart.
