O-ring or Fire ring?

Too Much Time
I’ve had a lot of different answers on this and I’m still puzzled. Which is best suited for around 1000hp and why? This will be a 12v truck, the max power it will ever see is maybe 1100-1150 due to budget. I’ve heard of people going 1200 on just studs but I want a little bit more since I’m doing a motor build.

Truck will be a 98 lbsc 12v, Farrell 650cc 12mm, 5x.025 sticks, timing at 26*, Fass 220, S366 (66/74 .91) over a S480 (80/96 1.32). Small shot of no2. Hamilton 188/220 cam, wide bowl pistons. ARP 2000

Any input is appreciated!

Personally unless you over torque your ARP 2000s I don’t think you’ll get enough crush on an oring or firerings to seal that cylinder pressure. If you over torqued then I’d say oring would help. However if I was in your shoes I’d do it right and get ARP 625s and have it fire ringed, with a decked block/ head.

Yes. As long as you can make that power higher in the rpm range, and not let off quick.

Ok well let me ask this, will 2000’s hold the power I’m gonna make with just a gasket?

I’d be more comfortable with it not in compounds, if you deck the block and head it will make the headgasket last a hell of a lot longer. I’d also over torque the studs but apparently that makes me an idiot

Haisley fire ring mls and 625’s...

I dd my **** hard, not always with the engine at operating temp lol, best combo period if you don’t want to ever worry about hg failure

Well I’ve been thinking about going single anyway, what size would you recommend? And what stall converter?

I always over torque mine by 15-20 so I guess that makes me an idiot too lol

Sxe 369/.91T4 with no spray
S467.7/.90T4 with spray
2200 stall should be ok maybe 2400 If you run higher timing
