My 2005 C-7500 Service Truck

C-7 Rebuild.

When I picked it up in 2015 to swap my box off my old service truck. Blasted the frame and painted it before I put it all together. When I got it, it had quite a bit of blow-by, so after 2 years of use on an off highway job, I've decided to repair it. 4 out of 6 pistons had busted rings, a little cylinder damage, but a hone was able to take care of it. So all new piston packs, a rebuilt head, new injector o-rings, oil cooler, gaskets ect, I am headed back together with it.

I think we've got the same model shop....
Do you have plans for the space in front of the bed?

I honestly thought an engine this size would have sleeves.

Way to go OP. Really glad someone likes working on that crap.

I've got a frame built for the space, will add pics. Need to get running (making$$ lol) but the plan is to have sheet metal and fab a box that matches, and move the welder into it.

Would've been nice, would make you feel like you were actually getting your moneys worth.

I'm sure you're meeting a bottom line, but you would have been ahead to pull it and reseal.

You did good to catch it before it cut a cylinder down.

I'm guessing it has about 300k or equivalent hours of run time?

Also, we usually don't paint our replacement HEUI pumps.
It would be a good move to unbolt the cover and see how much debris it has stuck to the coil. If it has much at all, it will roach your injectors.

Yup, 319K, 8400hrs.
I will check for debris. Has rebuilt injectors(installed before I bought it). Contribution and buzz tests good. HEUI pump still good.

Got it all put back together, ran the overhead, and fired it up. Runs great! My ET is expired right now so I have to have a buddy bring his and clear a few codes. Engine light is on from low oil pressure before start up.

No. Those engines don't diag oil pressure unless it's an emergency spec file with the hardware installed.
164 code or low cranking fuel I could see. Low cranking FP is also optional hardware.

Haven't looked at it with ET yet. But I figure it's a code from cranking and not having oil pressure reading to ICP. But I'll find out Monday. Runs good tho. Thanks for the reply.

Is up and running great. Was the barametric pressure sensor holding it back.
