What HP is intermediate shaft upgrade needed ?

I am looking at an 03 that has supposedly dynoed 1050hp that has not the intermediate shaft upgraded on the auto trans.

Will not the trans be short lived if Dyno numbers are correct ?
 
I’d be purchasing a billet intermediate shaft to have on the shelf. In your situation, it’s not if, rather when the shaft will fail.

And a dyno is probably easiest on transmission parts. Racing, towing, off-roading, all are much more taxing on a transmission.
 
When I got my trans built my builder would not put a billet intermedite shaft in cause he said he’d had more billets break than stock , that was 10 years ago and I’m sure quality is much better today . I’ve put over 260k miles on my trans and still going strong at 900 hp .

I have confirmation from the guy who built the tranny that it DOES have a billet intermediate shaft .
Owner was unaware .
