5500 lmm - check gauges - auto shutdown

I've got a 08 5500 in the shop.
It's recently been to the dealer for auto shutdown and a check gauges lamp. At the dealer the entire exhaust system was replaced. Lights still on gm recommend a turbo. It appears the turbine housing is leaking. Clearly it needs to be replaced but the owners want confirmation it'll fix the truck. The check gauges lamp illuminates above 2,000 rpm under load only. After a bit of driving in accordance with service data the chime increases it's rate and the truck then shuts down. All the service manual states that is capable of causing the check gauges is oil pressure high or low, coolant level and coolant temp. We've data logged the truck and during the time these lights are on none of these pids are out of typical operating ranges. All gauges show ok. The dealer indicates that excessive egt's are causing the warning but I've found no data to support that. There are no codes present.
Curious if anyone has experienced this. Thanks in advance for your input.
