C15s are junk. I'll buy it from you for a core so you have a little cash to go buy a Detroit.

So my truck some back with a bad wheel seal. Turned out I need bearings and they are in the city over an hour away from me. Can anyone tell me if I can chain up the one axle I have the axle pulled out of an move the truck over a bay in the shop? It's parked in front of the door an my dad's truck and my other one can't get in for the night. It's -35 here. I'm not sure if I can chain up the one side and move the truck with no axle shaft in.

If it is rated at a true 550 it is a 6nz, MBN never was rated higher than 525 if I recall

Correct, other than the turbo is a pos too. Tuning and a turbo wakes them up dramatically. Cam is a great next step for another 100hp.

Thanks guys.

I just pushed the axle into the diff an locked my 4ways an had rags all around the axle shaft to hold it centred. Worked fine.

I still can't get a hold of the owner to see what the deal with the truck is. It's got 1.3 mill km on it now. So if the motor hasn't been touched I don't know how much more it's got left.

My dad stopped and looked at the truck. I'll call him in the morning and see if he remembers.

Doesn't mean much I guess, just that an mbn probably wouldn't have made it that long with the original.

Yep, works good with 650+ hp worth of fuel otherwise it's a bit lazy. The 171702 is a good choice also and blows that piston cracker HX60W out of the water.

Still a shame we never tried that large turbine 60 on an ISX to see how it compared, leaps and bounds over the small turbine gated version Im sure.

The biggest problem with the HX60 is cost and availability. It seems the aftermarket borg stuff is more readily available than a dealer item such as the HX60. Price fluctuates way too fricken much between dealers, too. There can be $500 swings in price on turbos at Cummins.

The shops cost on the 60 that I mention was around $1100.

Any chance you guys could recommend a parts list for a 550 hp 3ZJ 3406B?

I'd assume we should step up to a steel piston, but I have no idea what else would be recommended?

Thanks
Chris

Injection pump housing number? Should be a 7e5888?

Have I looked this one up before Chris?
