Where do the timing marks line up on a 2002 dodge , ho motor, and ho pump.

Some people say long ass the crank and cam line up with 0 on crank and 00 on cam then 0 on cam with 00 on pump gear .

Then others say don't matter pm vp44 pump alignment on the 0 s . The only one that matters is the o on crank matching up with the 00 on cam. The computer will adjust the vp 44 timing

.

Before removing the pump we just turn the engine until the keyway is at 12:00, so there is need to worry about timing marks on cam and crank. If you're assembling the engine, then you'll want to align the cam and crank correctly. The VP44 most certainly has to be timed with the engine. CP3 pump are not timed, but the VP is still a rotary style injection pump, so it's important where the delivery valve open and close

I removed the gear out of the timing cover. I have the right woodruff key.

I just need to figure out where the pump gear lines up.
