How Much Should it cost and who should I have do t?

If my vp44 ever gose out i was thinking about doing a p-pump conversion. What I wanted to know from the people who have it done is a ball park on how much it is with a mild set-up. Also should I pull the motor and send it to a shop to have it done? just any info you can give me on your swaps would be great.

It would be almost what your truck is worth to pay a shop to do it + parts.

I spent nearly $4k with the Schieds kit, pump (with plate, AFC springs and GSK), FASS, and misc. odds and ends. You can buy a lot of VP's for that, or buy a 12v and swap in for that. I did make up about $1200 on parts that I didn't need though, and still have more kicking around.
