Check out this ebay add.

I have sold things locally before and just revised the price to an unreal amount on epay so I wouldnt have to worry about anyone biding on it... I imagine thats what happened. $.02
 
I dunno....Ebay charges a fee based on your buy it now price. That buy it now would have a really high % for a fee...I wouldn't goof around with something that would cost me money.

Even if you revise your auction after the fact if you touch that buy it now it will change how much you pay.
