A different bypass...

I know coolant bypass has been discussed countless times. I have an idea and i'm wanting some input. I completely understand the benefits of the coolant bypass and why we do it. My '02 just come apart at 120k due to heat around the number 5 and 6 cylinders. Therefor, I need to get tht hot water out of the back of my block. However, like a lot of you guys, I constantly strive to clean up under the hood and get rid of "extra crap". I see some of guys use the rear freeze plug in the block to run their coolant bypass back to the front thermostat housing or upper radiator hose. Would there be something wrong with feeding the heater core with the rear freeze plug on the block and still returning it in the stock location? My theory is that it still puts hot water into the heater core and gets it out of the back of the block. Am I overlooking something. I'd do this without running any sort of in-line pressure valve. I feel that just relocating the feed side of the heater core from the top of the head to the rear of the block would help tremendously with getting the hot water out of the block and putting it where we want it. I should probably add that I understand that this wouldn't help the pressure in the back of the block. I'd be doing this primarily for heat. I'm not turning above 3200 rpm and with the aluminum plate in place of the rear freeze plug, I don't feel pressure will be an issue.
