Didn't say you you knew absolutely nothing. Who would cover the bill if any of the trucks you have been driving broke down and had to be towed, replaced a transmission or rear end, or bought tires?

T does your truck still have all the stratoflex airlines on it or have they been converted to plastic?

You're forgetting about contract drivers where you get a fixed dollar figure for driving x amount of miles like pulling Fedex trailers. You get good money but anyplace you can lower operating costs means more money in your back pocket.

All the air lines in the whole truck are replaced with whatever the crap is you can get from the dealerships, the lines from the catwalk to the trailer were replaced with an air line/power cable bundle from four states because I hate curly lines, they look like ass

That's good that they have been gone through, they tend to let loose at the worst moments. Did you already have the truck inspected?

UPS is the same way, I'll be doing that this winter during peak season.

Sure did, I had to throw a horn under the sleeper last minute, but she passed with flying colors

I pulled out a country mile of that stratoflex crap. Very little of it was in decent shape

Just working over the air ride system in the A model, and that alone is bad enough, I think they replaced the easy stuff on mine before it got parked, all the difficult lines that go up into the cab were left alone.

Luckily a good portion of mine was done since my air suspension is from a 2000 379 and the frame was stretched at the same time, but the air wiper lines, and everything else behind the dash was still stratoflex, its not now ☺

Some of the best fuel mileage trucks we have owned have all been mechanical.
I know 2 guys running B cats and both are consistently in the 4mpg range. One is Les you know, and he just parked it and is running a Classic with a fresh 5EK. The other guy has the 359 and hauling permit loads he's down in the 2mpg range loaded, said it's getting electrified soon if my motor holds together. Hauling the same loads I'm averaging 6.4 with 50% empty miles and he's only doing 4. Pretty sad really since I've got him easily by 100hp and I drive like I stole it.

I know les has had issues with his mechanical for a while, I must have gotten lucky when I converted the t600 we had from PEEC to mechanical, it ran well enough to stomp a 475 and was right around 6, I really think tuning is a major issue with a B model that gets 2mpg, hell he could run a 1693 and do better.

Just to poke fun at you, the only trip my red K100 made as a working truck besides hauling grain was a load of fat steers to PA, it got into the high 5 range out and back.

My father has a 3406C (original mechanical, not a PEEC converted) , dynoed last spring at 500 rwhp with weak stock injectors and a Borg Warner charger. Has since put 25% over stock injectors in the truck and gets 6.5 mpg hauling heavy equipment.

He said the truck runs good, dyno'd it at Antrims a few months ago and did like 575hp to the tires. Not much smoke and no jakes, has a brakesaver. Just gets crap mileage.

It just means a lot to me to drive a truck I like. That's all.
What are you going to be putting in the trailer Rick?
