Manual 6 speed, clutch isn't strong enough for 3rd gear launch let alone 4th gear lol
Was thinking of gettin some large diameter DR and fabbing up some removable traction/ladder bars. But then again if I go with a smaller drag radial I could probly take off in 3rd.... Hmmm
Any cool threads for homemade traction bars? Nice to see where people are mounting them before I start measuring/fabbing

Not many ways to mount traction bars. One end on the axle. Other end where the drive shaft flexes on the frame, to be simple. But maybe you should get a stouter clutch and stickier tires or softer suspension

all of this is in the plans but the wallet has to take baby steps after my last few mods...
looking for really just tire size/psi preference, rpm/gear to launch at/in. weights on the bumper... stuff like that. more "diesel truck" specific things not just general racing
thanks

500lbs in the bed works well! 17 x 12 rim with a drag slick. Check Jegs for tires!

That's kind of hard to give. Unless we know ever aspect of your truck. Other than 'QCSB 2wd 6sp'. I couldn't tell you an exact because I don't have an exact to go off. I don't have a dyno sheet. I don't know what gears you have, what exact clutch, what elevation, the Wieght of the truck etc.
Unless you provide every aspect possible no one can give you exact combos like you are wanting because a certain setup isn't one size fits all.

Don't forget ambient temp, track temp, track prep... All that goes into out too.
OP, you need to just go out and do it.

I don't have the sheet in front of me but i peak at 616rwhp @ 40psi on dyno (peaks 50-55 on street) power curve is not that great because of the big single, it really starts to light at 2k and runs out of juice at 3600-3800. weighs 7260 with me and some tools. 3.73 gears, street 31.75" tall tires 14" wide on 20" rims. single ceramic organic clutch w/ 3600lb pressure plate. track is 600 above sea level. san antonio raceway

i ran the truck when it still had some power issues, 400-450rwhp, 20psi in the tires, took off in 2nd and was really hard to get traction then i got lots of hop, 3rd had lots of wheel hop as well and 4th was good. ran a 15.2 @94.8 cant remember the 60ft but it was bad. but turns out RP wasn't going above 10-12k @ wot
im working on fabbing up some ladder bars and then going to hit the track, ill prob drop the pressure down to 15psi and see how it runs. have any of you put weight over the axles??? or would i just be shooting myself in the foot with more weight
thanks for the input

That single disc clutch is going to kill your launch a bit but your on the right track (no pun intended). Ladder bars will help out. And some weight over the axle will help you hook. You say you have street tires? What ply? Maybe get some cheap steel/aluminum rims and some drag radials just for the strip? These 2wd's are a BIATCH to make hook on the track. I don't even bother trying to punch it any more in my 2wd's since I do nothing but spin spin spin.
On a side note tho.
I would use 3rd gear 2-2300rpm 15psi boost should be about that. With ladder bars. Maybe 2-300# in the bed. And some sticky 8ply tires at 25psi. That is what got my 2wd dually from spinning. But I was a bit lower in the HP and charger size than you. And I had a dual disk.
