Ended up cancelling the order for the exhaust housing. They found me a used one at Stainless for 325, 50 off their new price and twice what the one I ordered was. So need to decide what to do on that side.

I made the decision to go ahead and spend the bucks on expanding my data logger sensors and ordered 2 new nodes. I ordered the 3 egt probes and the 2 three wire air temp sensors from them. Ordered 3 pressure transducers off ebay to use for the time being till I can swing the better ones if I need too.

So Node 1 will be setup like this:
port 1: EGT - exhaust temp
port 2: EGT - post turbo temp
port 3: Incoming air temp
port 4: post intercooler air temp

Node 2 will be setup like this:
port 1: EGT transmission temp sensor
port 2: Transmission pressure
port 3: post intercooler boost pressure
port 4: exhaust manifold pressure

After I get these in, should have some good data to make some going forward decisions with on turbo/intercooler, etc...

Got the pass front fender looking better last night, doesn't look like it has a lazy eye now from the front. If I make any more, need to work the mold a little bit and fix that angle on the back flange.

Also put a new 1k cca battery in the truck last night and colored in with paint pens my emergency shutoff switch to identify run vs off.

Whew, forgot how much crap we loaded up for a race....

Finally got everything loaded and strapped down and ready to race tomorrow. Hauling trucks to Skiatook to help cook breakfast at the American Legion in the morning and then at 9:30 we are heading on from there to race.

Yeah, just a little bit of a load. This is my second starlite, also have an 18' + 2' gooseneck low boy. I like them both. I hauled up to 18 round bales at a time on this 35' + 5' gooseneck last summer for short runs

The one sitting in my yard has been so over loaded more time than I can count and has yet to ever let us down.

My small trailer is the same way, bought it used, looks abused. Hauled it to Indy and back with the race truck a couple of weeks ago. Haul it overloaded with hay every year too. Just keeps going.

Well, went and raced yesterday and didn't do well. First pass, got up there and tried building boost and had trouble getting it to spool up with all the fuel, then it tried pushing through the brakes, think I only had about 10lbs of boost built. About mid track it came to life and shot off like it should have. Then at the end it dies as I was exiting. Couldn't get the truck restarted. Wouldn't even start back in the pits with a whiff of either, so only thing I can think of is it slipped timing. I did pull number 1 and 6 valve covers off just to make sure the cam didn't break, since it's still a cast cam. It's fine. Need to pull the front clip off and check the pump timing now when I have some time. Have 2 weeks till the next race.

Bought my wife a new Canon Rebel SLR camera for mother's day, so she was practicing with it yesterday. Here are a few of the pics she took

You may not have been happy, but, that looked like a pretty decent pass once she got moving.

Holler at Jesse (GOT-Torque) he has a very simple and effective adjustable gear at a good price.

I have an adjustable timing gear on the truck with a key on the shaft. Need to get the front clip off tonight and start taking things apart to see if I can figure out what the issue is.

Finally had a chance to tear into the truck tonight and found the timing has slipped somehow even with an adjustable timing gear and it had a key in it as well. Need to order me a new dial indicator my good one is broke and the cheapie I use for setting up gears, I don't trust for this.

Did it shear the woodruff key? I've seen it happen once.... a couple weeks ago with a big aggressive pump setup!

Remove the pump gear nut and washer and carefully inspect the end of the pump shaft and keyway in the gear hub, it's hard to spot a sheared pump key but you can see it if you look closely.

Wow. Sheared the key??? Lots of force there... and just the pump drive. I am curious for sure.

At least it was the pump shaft key and not the cam gear key. (Cam gear key makes a big mess) Either way that sucks but at least it is a relatively easy fix.

Well, I'm freaking stumped. Dug into it further after rotating the pump and pinning it back to 20 degrees the shop set it at. Unbolted the outer adjustable gear part, all the bolts 6 big allen bolts were tight and in good shape and the small allen bolt was fine as well. The key wasn't sheered, was still whole and undamaged. So I pulled the dampner and took the front cover off. Can't find anything wrong with the gears or anything else.

Turn the engine over and check that all the valves are still moving. Possibly a clean break on the camshaft (between #1 & #2) maybe?

(edit) sorry just saw you already checked it.

Cam was the first thing I checked. It's not broke. Pulled 1 and 6 covers off sunday and turned the engine over and valves all moved. Going to pull off the front cam plate today and check the key on it. If that's ok, then I'm not sure what the hell it could be.

Need to order 4 crank bolts, 2 broke loose no problem another one I broke 2 thin wall sockets. Then the last 2 decided to round some, finally got the outer portion of the dampner off. Ended up driving on a 9/16 impact socket on them and a big 1/2" ratchet and about 300lbs of force....

Yes, it's getting fuel, broke the injector lines loose at the race when we were in the pits to ensure we were getting fuel to the injectors and cranked it over. Got fuel to all injectors.

Well, it was gnawing at me, so I quit working for a few minutes and ran out to the shop and pulled the gear retainer off the cam. Key looks intact to me.
