Racing engine:watep pump and freez plugs?

Do I have to replace stock freez plugs with threaded plugs in my racing engine? Just to be one safe side?

Engine is for drag racing (more than 4000 rpm)

Clip the water pump vanes- problem solved. Use threadlocker on plugs.

How to clip water pump vanes?

I have new pump for this purpose, but how to modify it?

You need to either switch to an electric style pump which you will have more control over the output or take a stocker and clip/remove every other vane, which in turn reduces the psi/flow output within the cooling passages, when using an unmodded stocker as the rpm's go past the stock rpm level the flow psi builds up and out come the freeze plugs, this is a cheapie way to reduce some of that psi/flow- going to an electric is a better way to go IMHO.

Keep in mind this cheapie method has its drawbacks-
By cutting every other vane on a stocker you are altering the balance of the impeller and longetivity of that pump is reduced by not being properly balanced- you will lose the pump sooner by the seal having a leak from an impeller that is not balanced.....

One possible way to reduce stock pump coolant flow in higher rpm's is : put bigger pump pulley,(no balance problems)

If stock diameter is X and max rpm is 3000, then with 4000 rpm and same flow the diameter should be :30 % bigger .

Good electric pump is nice but very excpencive $400 +

Where did you source an electric pump? Where does it mount?

Normally they mount it in between engine and lower radiator hose.
item description:

Stewart Components has developed in-line electric water pumps with unique features and benefits. Weighing less than 5 pounds and measuring 6'' long with a 4-1/4'' diameter, these pumps have single speed flow up to 55 GPM.
The electronic control box can be mounted remotely using the prefabricated harnesses sold separately. The pumps can be used alone in many applications or as a booster pump for vehicles that experience overheating problems in low RPM situations.

Because mechanical water pump speed is directly linked to engine RPM, overheating can become a major problem while in parades, cruises, or stop-and-go traffic. An in-line booster pump solves this problem by working with the mechanical pump to create constant added flow to the engine block. These pumps have been proven to increase flow by more than 300% at idle.

Highlights
1-3/4'' slip-on inlet/outlet ports
Computer-controlled, liquid-cooled, brushless motor
Compact, lightweight, highly-efficient design
Decreased energy draw (only 8 amps at 12 volts)
Drive mechanism is independent from engine RPM
Cools engine after shutting down

Price: $419.99

I hope it helps to you .

I have a water circulation system that I am still testing but it is defineately not like the above..... And this is one that I put together, solely for my racer, I will also test it on my streeter.......

I could market this deal -but choose not to, maybe after my testing is complete -I will offer kits, but for now I am testing. This deal does not cavitate the water- which is key.....

Enterprise Engine has a bypass kit that relieves pressure at a set point. Less that a e-pump.
