Holset HX40 Super HX40 specs

Is there a link to all the specs and sizes for a HX40? (inducer and exhaust diameter, and housing sizes) Also what is a Super HX40?

The Super40 has a 10 blade turbine, it has either a 6 or 7 blade 60mm compressor wheel, it also comes with a 16cm waste gated t-housing. Any other turbine or compressor combination is just an HX40 or HX40W depending on the t-housing.

the 60mm inducer HX40 is the biggest inducer offered, and considered to be the best HX40 available so I bet a "super" HX40 is just a stock 60mm inducer.

not at all you will have to slowly let out of the throttle when you accelerate hard or the shaft will go shnnn-aaapppp and then you can tell us how good your naturally aspriated diesel runs

The Super40 does have a "stock" 60mm comp wheel but what makes it a Super40 is the turbine side. Holset manufactures a special high flow turbine wheel that they put only in the Super40. No other HX40 uses this turbine wheel, no other than a 60mm compressor wheel is available in a Super40, all Super40s come with a 16cm w/g housing. The 60mm comp wheel is the biggest comp wheel that Holset makes for the HX40.

Didn't know they had 2 different turbines available... I wonder if the 60mm HX40 I used to have was a super40, it sure ran damn good, lol

I believe a HX40 is 60/58/16, while the Super 40 is 60/60/16, but I'm not 100% on that.

I want to say that the Super 40 had the 7 blade wheel and it was more efficient at higher pressure ratios.

The difference is in the turbine housings...put a 12cm turbine housing on the 40 and hold on.

My hx40 with an 16cm exhaust housing spooled ridiculously fast... That's with a HRVP, 60hp injectors and whatever wiretap box you choose, I tried em all, lol. I always wonder why some people claim HX40s are laggy... They need more fuel I guess, lol.

All HX40's have a 65mm turbine wheel. I had a 58/65/16 HX40. I think I would have liked it much better if it was a 60/65/16 because it spooled ok, and ran good up top, but the HE351cw I have now runs cooler and spools faster. I have heard the Super HX40's are pretty darn good though.

I wish i was that lucky. And fuel, i got the fuel. Its the air i need. I have a HRVP, 7 x.018s, 4500 rpm redline box, fass150, and i can not get it to spool on the track. It works great on the street but not pulling a sled.
