They’re down right nutty. That’s getting scary fast for what it is.
Or maybe I’m just a wuss.

We are excited to finally get the truck closer to what our 2018 goals have been.
We are hoping to find another tenth in it, but going from a .47 to a 37 is a big undertaking. We have the power for more, but the ET is all found in the first 330' where power is just a small part of the equation.

We just added a wing with some downforce in preparation for running 1/4mile in Ennis, TX, NHRDA World Finals. We also broke a Heim joint in Florida, which was the reason we were getting hard left turns during the launch. We temporarily fixed it at the track, but are building all new 4 link bars with heavier tube and heim joints. We also found a crack on the bracket where the anti roll bar mounts to the axle, that we rewelded and added a gusset to hopefully prevent it from happening again.

We have been very happy with the Exergy Bosch ECU and Bosch Powerbox setup on the truck. The tuning capabilities are endless, giving us solid control during the burnout, staging and launching. Every measurement that is datalogged via the ECU can be referenced via the CAN bus system to enable/disable anything on the truck that is powered and since the Bosch Powerbox controls every solenoid, shifter, light, pump etc. I can't give enough credit to Phil at Exergy for the amount of time he invested in setting up this system before turning it over to us. It made the whole process seamless, from first start to race day and fine tuning. What i've learned about the Bosch system is that its only as good as the engineer who sets it up. A very powerful system when put in the right hands, and Exergy's team of engineers nailed it with taking the time to label all the measurements in plain English where i don't feel like i have to be Albert Einstein to maneuver through the software and datalogs.

If you had to pic a current favorite that you built.....

UCC truck or this...
Turn key build would be in the 200k range? If you add the pit coolers, pro jacks, spare tires, etc it all adds up quickly for sure with the big ticket items of a 11.5 mark Williams rear, Rossler TH400, Neal Chance converter, Bosch ECU, DDU9, PBX powerbox, injectors/cp3x2, menscer shocks and struts, Enforcer Engine, GT55 turbo, and a few months of fabrication Labor for the chassis, body mounting, custom firewall etc. We did have extra labor in the truck because it started as a Gas truck with a 7.50 cage and we had to cut out and add dual frame rails, etc. I think we'd have been time ahead to start over.

Favorite build, I'd like to redo the ucc build with what we know now, I love that build but have things driving me nuts knowing how much better the bosch powerbox would help the wiring and control, but can't say I favor one build over the other. Once you invest that much time into a project, you like it, because it's a representation of your hard work.

For race day the pro mod is less hassle and more fun. More tuning then wrenching, where the 4x4 always seems to be more wrenching than tuning.

This many years later a TH400 and 13" conv is still the best combo, at least to the 330' anyway. Rossler really stepped up their game since back then. I broke a Lot of their early hard parts but today they have their game down, obviously. And of course Chances lock ups are hands down the best available for this. I ran old fluid coupling junk with massive slip percentages. Good job guys, yall have that thing setup right. Congrats!
