When I used to farm we ran mostly red,, (but that was before Case became part of the equation) John Deere is quite big up here too. Very strong dealer.

I am guessing in your local the major crop is Corn?

Corn, Grains, Hay, is most of our customers main commodity. Strip a fair amount of Cotton as well.

My boss (and me) are both Deere guys, as you can see the majority of our equipment is green, but this past year he looked into a big case for plowing. Found the 210, brand new, CONSIDERABLY less than Deere, GPS was cheaper too, so he bought it. I ran that tractor for a week in the fields, and i ran it hard. She never skipped a beat. Couldnt even feel the disk behind me. Interior is way more op friendly than the deeres IMO.

Case's GPS "Trimble", on the other hand, is a PITA

Up here we are all grain farming. Wheat, Barley, Canola and some peas. The occasional guy will grow some oats but not much as there isnt much money in that.

I have never ran any peice of equipment with a GPS before so I cant comment on that,, although it sure sounds nice,,, LOL.

My son in law just bought a new tractor last year a New Holland (Ford) its a big one 450 HP I believe. They use it for many purposes, in the winter it is used for pulling trucks up hills in the bush and plowing (they have a 20' dozer blade for it) in the summer it is also used for pulling and for regular farm work. They have a great big winch on the back of it and also have the biggest skidder tires they could find on it. (with chains)

I hadn't ever used GPS either until starting with this guy. Lemme tell ya, its the best thing invented since velcro. If your in a field full of trees and trash its easier to just free steer, but get in a big open field, turn on auto-trac, sit back and eat lunch, play a game on your phone, turn it around at the end of the row, and hit Auto-trac again, and your off.

I Love It

Love seeing photo's of the farm rigs. I see a JD drill for planting?

This is one of the drills we use, just forget what it grosses out at but its something silly.....180K or so.

GPS is great, we topo everything now and use the data to form surface drainage profiles. Then a dual channel GPS controls both steering and blade control.

Nice pics guys!! We prefer new holland equipment ourselves though!!!

Ill get some pics of our stuff. We arent brand specific really an IH 986, Case IH combine, JD 4430, 8100, 8230, 3010, model A (show tractor) and a 75hp New Holland loader tractor. New deeres are nice and hold resale really good. Looked at a few MX tractors but prefer the Deeres due to the service. Deere combines suck in our opinion and are twice the money to repair and maintain.

Some more

Agco? dont see many of those. Theres a guy about 10 miles from here that runs all Agco tractors and Gleaner combines. Those are the only ones i've seen

where me and bmarlatt are from there are quite a few Agco's. my family prefers red equipment, i like the blue stuff...but moslty all i deal with is the skidders and other logging equip...its all industrial yellow.
