Very cool stuff. Potentially you could use a logic level mosfet transistor. I cant remember PNs or ratings, but you may very simple and cheap be able to drive larger amperage PWM.

I have yet to see a high HP diesel with any sort of tire not eat up a differential. Clutch and torsion style. They will last for a bit, then they wear out prematurely, they can only hold so much. A mechanical locker is your best bet.

Yeah trutracs are used quite readily by pullers around here in the front diff around here without issues to speak of.

After discussions with my local gear center and Eaton I decided to go with the truetrac.

Thanks again for everyone’s input.

I never was really into the rat rod deal, but that turned out so right. I think it's that frt end set forward that makes it. Awesome, keep the updates coming!

Need some under the hood pics of this thing. Have you driven it down the road? Do the chargers even respond at all being only run on 4 cylinders?

Unfortunately the truck only ran for one pass that I was not there for. Zero tuning has been done and we are still using stock injectors. Lots of work still to do as we work through some issues. I have been told the turbos fired and were more responsive than expected...time will tell. With some holiday coming I expect to have it on a dyno for sole tuning at the end of February. More parts ordered and more to come 😎😜!

Thanks for all of your comments! This truck has been a ton of fun to build and worth the nearly 6 years of time. I have been fortunate to have passionate talented businesses to make this project a reality.

hubs :)

Will be ordering these hubs next week so we can squeeze the a set of 15" wheels on the back to be wrapped in a MT 31x18. If all of my homework checks out I should be able to run my dually's or the 15" on these hubs.

Update

As some here predicted the stock turbos and injectors have created a laggy smoky truck. The truck sounds great and performs well but not well enough.
We are trying to sort out what the ideal injector turbo package needed to achieve 800-1000 hp. We have reached out to a couple 6.0L specialists but if you have any insight, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Piker

Very cool build! Kudos to you for using something other than the usual 6bt, especially a 6.0. Keep us updated on the project

The Plan

Looks like we will be trying this set up. Not gonna get huge hp but we are hoping it will be steetable and run a decent pass.

Turbos : S256/70 63ar
Injectors : 8mm hybrids 400cc 150 % nozzles

Thoughts?

Cheers!!

Isn't Jesse, Warren Diesel (dude with a couple fords in the UCC challenge??) the 6.0 king? Kinda has to be with what all he's accomplished with one, I'd think? He's up in PA or somewhere NE USA I believe?

Regardless, SUPER COOL rat rod!!
