Truck Bed Plus Cash for Flatbed

This is a LOONNNGGG shot, BUT... anyone out there that has a flatbed for a 2013+ DRW 3500 Ram that would want to trade a truck bed plus cash for an aluminum flat bed? I REALLY dont want to smash the bed sides with a pony trailer. Almost had a close call this past weekend.

Thanks!

Aluminum beds are nice...but, they dont like rough roads. Have one on our cab and chassis. After 14 months and 90k the whole skrt was ready to fall off and one of the tool boxes was pulling back through the skirt. Got it welded and its good to go now. Interstate and good two lane roads shouldn't cause any problems.

So 99.9% of the roads in the US...

I need to stay light on the rear due to axle weight when hooked to the trailer so a steel bed is out of the question.

Good point

I guess you can't alter the load with the pony trailer. We weighed it after we traded in the previous pickup, that was identical, but had a steel bed. I don't remember exactly but I'm thinking it was around a 500lbs difference.

yeah i'm runnin on the ragged edge of being over loaded when the LQ is full without having horses in it. Farmer/fabricator in me says to just build a bed that way i can still utilize my factory hitch that's in the truck. If i did that, i'd build it as a western hauler style.
