quiet exhaust?
Anyone fabbed up a dump valve after the resonator, with good mufflers on the other side? Tired of being loud as **** around town but I still want the flow I get with the system as it is.
Not running a spare tire, thought about using that space to put in a couple stock-ish mufflers in parallel to get more flow with less volume. Or maybe find a muffler off a tractor with a larger motor and run that instead.
If I have to go out late at night, I cringe when I start this thing.. my neighbors must hate me by now

I've been using a Donaldson semi muffler, it has tons of flow and is almost as quiet as stock and that's with 5" stacks. Can't remember exact part # but quite a few people use it so a quick search should help find it.

That sounds close, you should have enough room for the y just after the downpipe, the only thing being it would exit right under the passenger door.

FTE mufflers/resonators are supposed to be pretty good at attenuating sound but still allowing great flow. I plan on getting one for mine in the near future.

truck has a resonator now.. it is LOUD. I figure Ill get the muffler for places where I need to keep the noise down, and the other side of the Y pipe will be open after the resonator like normal.

In the gas world a lot of the cutouts aren't real reliable. They will stick, I'd imagine soot wouldn't help that much. Not sure I've ever seen a 4 or 5 inch cutout, if they exist?

The best muffler is a second turbo!
A good friend of mine has compounds and then three resonators on his 05 CR and it is quiet! Especially for a >800hp truck.
He used v-bands between everything so he could "tune the sound", two resonators under the truck, and one he welded into the stack.

Id love to do compounds on this thing, but the budget aint happening.
I found the y-pipe in 4 inch, could make something for the cable and valve pretty easy.
I already need to do some exhaust work in that area, I have some shackle flips to install and they line right up with the pipe exit.

I've heard nothing but good about FTE's resonators. They aren't like a typical resonator with a perforated tube wrapped in insulation and encased in a larger tube. Search about them here or on Google and you'll see.

Get ready to have 'ticking' with those butterfly valves on the exhaust. They don't ever make a complete seal. I'd recommend routing the exhaust around the muffler and back into the system if you want to do that. It'll hide the ticking and probably look clean. Plus, you could likely do a 3" and have your bottleneck be you 4" exhaust (think muffler flow + 3" exhaust > 4" exhaust).
