4th gen headlight options?

ok heres the deal, my 2011 2500 stock with the single bulb headlight (st) was phucking pitiful. ok i got talked into hid's, almost positive theyre 8ks. they still suck. had a ballast go out already, getting a new one for free tomorrow.

my question is what have people done? i cant be the only one whos in this boat.

my guy is offering to get supposedly brighter bulbs for nothing before i give up. options?

Don't buy cheap HID's. I'm not saying you did though. Hope you get it sorted out. I bought mine from VVME and they are holding up awesome.

im not positive what brand they are. a friend is a dealer and i let him take care of it. those of you with hid's, are any in a 4th gen? i seriously think the factory design just sucks.

my guy said this is only the second ballast case hes ever had...so w/e. ill let him fix it for free. im thinking led driving lights mounted in thecenter of the bumper....

Sometimes you just get a lemon, It happens. If it really is his second ballast i'd say it's just a bad one.

I've put 3 ballasts in my fourth gen so far and 2 different sets of lights. However I didnt take the time to wire in a canceler or a relay.

My truck is a Big Horn with the 4 bulbs. I have the 55w Retro Solutions in 5k for the lows in my quad lights. I think they're pretty damn bright, especially with highs on too. However, I get high beamed way more than I thought I would. If they're that bright, I kinda feel bad but they work for me. I've had them for over 2 months and no problems. A guy I work with got projector lights for his 1500 with the Retro kit and really has had nothing but problems. Maybe I was lucky or maybe they are just hit or miss?
