Front Diffs

What is everyone running for their front differentials in drag trucks? Spools or Lockers?

I don't know of anybody with a spool, but I'm sure there is. Detroit is the standard go to, an air locker is nice if you ever drive it.

I have been told a posi unit is the farthest you want to go. I plan to throw one in my 60 at some point

I had an air locker on my dana 60 and when it would work it would jerk the steering wheel hard to one side. Would not use it on the strip.

We haven't done any 4x4 asphalt drag racing. However, in the dirt, your best option is a good limited slip or open.

I can sorta understand wanting to be locked right off the line. Keep in mind with a fully locked front, once one side breaks, you are into the wall.

Open. Have at it with the locker if you want but you will regret it.

If your going straight you don't have to steer. The only time it would have a negative effect would be like stated above, if something broke while making a pass.
