Ahhhhhhhh. Here's a video about rebuilding the A518 professionally done. Mainly dwells on the OD portion, but is very good nonetheless. The guy throws a lot of extra information in so he makes it more overwhelming than it really is: http://bellsouthpwp2.net/t/h/thegobb...ansmission.avi

Sorry. This should work. I keep getting a message that says bandwidth exceeded. If it doesn't work, let me know. Gobbell Woodworking Homepage Tons of pics and a video. If it shows for you, try downloading the complete video and burn it onto a DVD. If you have a tv and DVD player available, you can use them with the DVD when doing the rebuild.

ATF thread: trans fluid preferences - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together
I think I will try the tractor fluid in my buildup. I may do a mix though since it will see a ton of street driving also.

The screen name is correct. It was an on the job ankle injury, and this was my second surgery (happened to me in 2007). 6 weeks after surgery, I can now put partial weight on it. If we didn't have about 10" of snow dumped on us 2 days ago, I was going to move my transmission into the basement to start the build. Now, everything is buried in the garage (my basement at least has heat, and the room to work). Oh well. At least I have about another week to search for more trans info!

Try this link for the video rebuild I mentioned earlier. Seemed to work for me right now. If you can, save it and burn a copy to follow along during your rebuild, or just watch it on a laptop while you do it.
