Budget Injectors
Whats the difference between the budget line injectors and the regular line? I saw you can only get the budget ones in 145 degree and no upgrades, but if I were getting a 145 degree injector with none of the upgrades, what are the differences. I didn't see any explanation on your site, apologies if I missed it.

Budget Builder nozzles are mass-produced/EDM'd in select sizes from aftermarket (non-Bosch) nozzles. The Power Driven Line are EDM'd one set at a time from Bosch nozzles and therefore are available in custom spray patterns, etc. As far as build quality, we still build both styles/lines: PDD and Budget Builder on refreshed Bosch bodies with Bosch internals. We are having a difficult time maintaining a secure supply of Bosch core injectors, so if the trend continues, we will be forced to offer Budget Builders injectors on aftermarket bodies. If that happens, website descriptions will be changed accordingly.
As far as testing/R&D, it usually takes about 20k miles to see a noticeable wear difference/bleedback on Bosch vs quality aftermarket nozzles. Not that the aftermarket at smoked by 20k miles, just that they show more wear. As far as split nozzles, complete failure, blown off tips, etc, we've had more Bosch failures than aftermarket but this is likely due to the fact that all of the monster large sized nozzles like 5x025" or 5x028" are burned into Bosch nozzles. In the smaller sizes like 5x012" or 5x014", very similar less than 2% failure rate.
So what do I run in my personal 98' 12v? Currently it has 5x013" Budget Builders and has had them for the past 12 months or so. Prior to that I ran a set of heavily modified 5x020" PDD with needle work, edge filters removed, etc. (Nasty aggressive not so great for towing/daily driving). Prior to that I ran a set of 5x014" VCO Budget Builders for about 6 months. Prior to that I ran a set of 5x016" PDD for about 6 months. And before that a set of 5x011" Budget Builders.
If you want the very best we have to offer get the Power Driven Line. If you want the best value, acceptable quality, and maximum fun per dollar, get the Budget Builder.
