clutch question

I have a SBC 3850 and was wondering if you had to get a longer input shaft to run a triple. I am sending mine back to peter to have it gone over. But i forgot to ask about it.When i talked peter 3 days ago he said they had a new clutch material they were testing this summer and it was awesome. Just wondering if anyone has one and what you think.

No longer shaft, some guys buy the bigger inputs 1 3/8" to replace the 1 1/4" shafts. Peter could do whatever you want. I have the stock shaft.

I think for the triple a longer shaft is needed, and also a spacer plate between the bell and engine.

I believe you are correct, I remember Scott needing that when he did it to the BBD.

I posted this earlier today, not sure what happen to it but here is again

Correct, here is a picture of the difference between the Iron Giant II on the left and the Iron Giant III on the right. Notice the need for the starter spacer as well. There are pics on my web site as well:

Here is pic of teh spacer on the bell housing and the needed longer 10" input shaft:

SBC is not the only manufacturer of triple disc clutches.
