Vibration dampener

When I swapped the 12v into my 2001, I used the 24v dampener.

I am about to make an adapter for a tone wheel but I am wondering, should the 24v dampener be used on a 12v? It is slightly different size than the industrial/FedEx truck dampener, don't want to harm anything.
