So... This freakin 1lw in this new truck is really pissing me off. One hill it seems to run very well, the next, not so much. I don't think it runs well at all. I'm constantly fighting it.

If it was mine, it'd already be done. I think it may have an issue. I'm not sure. It has a weird exhaust note that I can't decide if it's in the motor or the resonator just gives off a weird note that I'm picking up.

Jakes still don't work. Think it has a wiring issue or bad orings.

There is a 379 for sale on truck paper with one now. No price.

I'd like to see someone drop an electronic cat V12 in one, probably be almost impossible to keep a clutch in with the torque they make.

The green one? If that's the one you're talking about it's been on there a pretty good while.

Yeah, I think it is under consignment at that dealer, hard to tell what they want for it.

Friend of mine is looking at an 09 KW T800 with an ISX and 10 speed. Engine is bone stock. $55k. The truck has 496,000 miles and 24,000 hours. Does the hour amount seem high for the miles? Also what is the expected hour longevity of an ISX?

Any thoughts?
Is it worth the money or no way?
Thanks!!

The 496,000 divided by 60 mph is only about 8300 hours. What was the truck doing that it was running for around 50% of the time since it was built.

That's kind of what I was thinking. It pulled tankers, so I'm not sure if it was running pumps or something?

Curious if it's something to be scared of or anything in particular to look at on it? Or run like hell!?!

Our 09 386 had 510,000 and 22K hours....When you have a driver sleeping in it hauling wide loads, you idle for 14 hours a day and move for 10 ALL WINTER.

Pulling RGN.

New truck has APU Obviously!

What's the life expectancy out of an ISX? He usually runs his truck to 1 million miles, just trying to decide if it makes sense for this truck to make a million without a rebuild?

I would say it would be hit or miss, I know of a few that have made it that far but have had a lot of other things fail. Between actuators and cams they are a expensive engine to operate. IMHO

It won't make it to a million untouched, maybe 600k if he's lucky. Unless the egr, dpf and all associated garbage is removed.
